2011/05/09

On 6th May, 2011, over 50 students from Niels Steensens Gymnasium, Niels Brock Gymnasium and Copenhagen Business School visits Chinese Embassy in Denmark to join in the Youth Open Day-one of the main activities in the 2011 China-EU Year of Youth. The Embassy's young diplomats shared their knowledge and opinions with the students about China's development, culture, and foreign policies.

The 2011 China-EU Year of Youth was declared by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and European Commission President Barroso at the 12th EU-China summit in Nanjing in November 2009. Youth dialogue, seminars, workshops and expert meetings are jointly organized over 2011 both in China and Europe. A series of themed interactive programs is gearing up for extensive youth participation in such events as international volunteering, knowledge contest, bicycle race and television features. By launching such a large-scale program, both Chinese side and EU side hopes to increase mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and European younger generations. Youth Open Day on May 6th is held in all Chinese embassies and consulates general in EU countries as well as those of EU countries in China.
