Ambasssador Deng Ying Visits Central Denmark Region

Ambassador Deng Ying visited Central Denmark Region( Region Midtjylland )as invited during April 11-13. She called on the Central Denmark Region Council and Municipality Government of Arhus, as well as visiting Grundfos and representatives of overseas Chinese and Chinese students in Aarhus. It was Ambassador’s first to Central Denmark Region. She received warm welcome.


During her stay in Viborg, Ambassador Deng met with Chairman of the Regional Council Mr. Anders Kühnau, who briefed the economic and social development of the Region, industrial advantages as well as the exchanges between Viborg and Chinese provinces and cities including Shanghai. He expected further local level communications and deepening of regional cooperation.

Ambassador Deng congratulated Mr.Kühnau on his successful election and highly commended the Region Council for their efforts in promoting the cultural and people-to-people exchanges. She hoped that the region would make use of industrial advantages, further local level communications and cooperation, actively participate in the First China International Import Expo (CIIE) and the opening ceremony of Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Denmark, contributing to the development of China-Denmark relations in the New Era.


Ambassador Deng also paid a visit to Grundfos and promoted CIIE participation from Grundfos. She was also briefed on the operation of the company and collaborative projects in China.


During her stay in Aarhus, Ambassador Deng held a conversation with the Mayor of Aarhus Mr.Bundsgaard, who introduced the history and social governance of Aarhus. Mr. Bundsgaard highly evaluated the exchanges between Aarhus and some provinces and cities in China including Harbin, emphasizing that Aarhus is willing to work closely with China, host China Denmark Regions and Cities Forum (CDRCF) and push forward the China-Denmark relations.

Ambassador Deng congratulated Mr. Bundsgaard on his successful reelection and expressed her gratitude towards Aarhus for its enhancing China-Denmark local level communication and people-to-people exchanges, supporting Happy Chinese New Year performance as well as promoting culture exchanges. She expected Aarhus would take the opportunity of hosting the second DERCF to further practical cooperation with provinces and cities in China, attend the CIIE and the opening ceremony of Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Denmark, enriching the China-Denmark Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Ambassador Deng visited representatives of local overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese students. Briefed on the cultural exchange activities, she encouraged the overseas Chinese to integrate into the local society, enhancing mutual understanding between the people of China and Denmark.

Central Denmark Region is one of the five regions in Denmark, featuring the headquarters of many renowned Danish enterprises and the capital is Viborg. Aarhus is the biggest city in Central Denmark Region. It is also the second biggest city and one of the major port cities in Denmark.
