Ambassador Deng Ying Holds reception celebrating 68th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China

On 22nd September, H.E. Chinese Ambassador to Denmark Deng Ying held a reception to celebrate 68th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Over 400 guests attended, including Danish Minister for Energy, Utilities and Climate Lars Christian Lilleholt, former-speaker Mogens Lykketoft, Lord Chamberlain Michael Ehrenreich, State Secretary for Foreign Policy Jonas Bering Liisberg, Rear Admiral and Dean of Royal Danish Defense Academy Nils C. Wang, representatives from Danish ministries, Danish-Chinese Business Forum, the Friendship Association Denmark-China, ambassadors and representatives from the Diplomatic Corp, representatives of local Chinese institutions, overseas Chinese and scholars and students in Denmark and Confucius Institute.


Ambassador Deng and Minister Lilleholt delivered remarks respectively. In her welcoming remarks, Ambassador Deng introduced various achievements China has made in its national development and modernization, stressing that China actively pursues a win-win and mutually beneficial strategy of opening up. She emphasized that China is committed to creating a community of shared future for mankind, and has successfully held the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and the Xiamen BRICS Summit, and is pushing forward the Belt and Road Initiative. She said that 19th National Congress of CPC will lead Chinese People on the march towards the Two Centenary Goals, and that the Chinese people have full confidence in the realization of the Chinese Dream of the rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation.

Ambassador Deng highly commended the development of China-Denmark relations, highlighted the great importance that China attaches to the friendship and cooperation with Denmark, wished China and Denmark could take the opportunity of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of comprehensive strategic partnership to further strengthen bilateral ties with new achievement and development.

Minister H.E. Mr. Lars Christian Lilleholt sent warm congratulations to the 68th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. He welcomed Ambassador Deng as the new Chinese Ambassador to Denmark, and said that Denmark and China not only enjoy close ties in the fields of commerce and energy, but also established a close government to government cooperation. He noted that during Danish Prime Minister’s visit to China in May, the two governments released China-Denmark Joint Work Program (2017-2020), which sets the overall direction for a strengthened cooperation encompassing no less than 80 Danish and Chinese authorities, covering 58 specific areas of cooperation towards 2020. He sincerely wished a continued strong and fruitful cooperation between Denmark and China.


At the reception, The Embassy screened the documentary “China’s Major-Country Diplomacy”, and held the picture exhibition “China’s Story 2017”. The guests high praised China’s development achievement, and looked forward to further development of China-Denmark Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The guests welcomed and congratulated Ambassador Deng on her assumption of office in Denmark and looked forward to working together to push forward the cooperation in all fields.


The Embassy also invited local Chinese in Denmark to stage art performance, tea ceremony and on-site Chinese Cuisine show. The guests had a wonderful time watching the performance and tasting the food. The reception won applause from time to time and praise from the guests, with warm and friendly atmosphere all along.
